Hundreds gathered at Rock Hill Country Club this morning for the unveiling of the 2018 Come-See-Me Festival logo. The logo was revealed by Chet Tucker, 2018 Festival Chair, at a breakfast meeting of the York County Regional Chamber. Sponsored by Peoples First Insurance, the event brought together business and community leaders for a sneak peek of Rock Hill’s annual salute to spring.
Many festivals have a logo that they use year after year. One of the many things that makes the Come-See-Me Festival unique is the updated version that’s created with input from each festival chair. This year’s logo was inspired by a classic design from illustrator Vernon Grant. While this particular rendition of Glen was last used in 1990, the color combination and other design elements were selected especially for this year’s festival.
Six recipients of the Come-See-Me Festival’s Community Service Merit Awards were also recognized. This year’s honorees are Shawanda Erby, Caroline Krueger, Alison Mallard, Helena Miller, Allyson Reid, and Ricky Teal.
The 2018 Come-See-Me Festival will kick off on Thursday, April 12 with an 80s-themed parade through Old Town Rock Hill. Over the course of the next ten days, you’ll be able to shag at the Beach Bash, cheer on your favorite amphibian at the Mayor’s Frog Jump, and sample craft beverages and delicious food at Hops at the Park and Gourmet Gardens. Enjoy live music? Put Glencairn Gardens on your schedule for lunch and dinner, as well as Moonlight Jazz & Blues and the Tailgate Party and Fireworks Extravaganza. Like to be active in the outdoors? Register for the Come-See-Me Road Races or take your little ones to Healthy Kids Zone.
